Neuroscience in Breathing Workshop

Until a few years ago, breathing was not an important factor in understanding neuronal dynamics. However, recent studies have been able to identify the anatomical pathways that breathing influences on the brain, observing that it modulates the areas most involved in cognition, memory and attention, and emotions. In this workshop we will understand how breathing acts as a pacemaker for the activity of neurons in the most important brain areas for behavior. We will see what characteristics of the respiratory pattern are associated with states such as anxiety or well-being. To complement the theory, we will practice and learn breathing techniques. In this workshop we will learn how with breathing we can create harmony in the brain areas responsible for managing our moods, emotional management and memory.
